popular trends in campus

Knitting has become popular in the campus again. Maybe it’s because it’s cold outside and we are thinking knitwear or maybe it’s just something creative to do. It’s often cheaper to buy a sweater then to make one. I personally love the Knitwears garment. Ostextlie have some of my favourite knitting patterns. Ostextile offers some very fashion forward patterns - from capes to cardigans - you’d never think that knitwear could be sexy but it can!

NO GAMES; I’M KNITTING

These days I was trying to knite socks myself, still haven't gotten my socks done....ran out of yarn. So I changed a few things to make it fit me better. I got my sample from the sport socks website. The result was good. They are made from my stash of Crystal Palace Panda Cotton. The yarn is SOOO soft and comfortable! The color is Nasturtium and it is HOT! It reminds me of fresh salsa. I wish I had a pair of clear shoes to wear with them. This is not a difficult pattern and I will probably make more.

Layoffs Started in World of warcraft developers

According to foreign website Joystick ,reports,America online games developer Mythic Entertainment carry out the second round of layoffs. The intensity of this is much stronger than the first , currently expected that there have 60-130 employees will lose their jobs. compared with last layoffs, this will influenced the game develop team, even part of the senior designers also take away. However, at this time there has not a week for EA company announce that the March launch the first information film of warhammer OL.
It is widely accepted that many players will think World of Warcraft cd key will lose price than ever. And this is also a good chance that small company A new force suddenly rises.
For the rumors of a large number layoffs, the company's general manager Mark Jacobs made a vague response, indirect acknowleaged of the fact that the company's layoffs. He said: "Although the number of our employees are from the game publishers to switch to pre-scale the size of the issue, we will still continue to work as" Warhammer OL and "brings the best gaming experience to players." At the same time, he also ensured that the company’s changes in size will not affect the Games tablets information development plan. Listen to this, we could think again about WoW CD Key whether having the quality problems.
Just yesterday, EA has just announced paying players of "Warhammer OL" of Europe and the United States reached 300,000, but compared to "World of Warcraft" the world's one thousand one million the number of registered , the players of "Warhammer OL" is is obviously not enough contend with that.
Let us pay attention to the WoW CD Key and warhammer OL, wish it will go ahead to long.

Onlive Video Games Expand The Market

Sounds like a Palo Alto style. OnLive, a CA-based startup wants to do away with gaming consoles, game resellers, and the need to buy any more expensive graphics chips. Today the company announced a service that lets any computer run the sorts of graphics-intensive video games traditionally reserved for high-end gaming systems. Games can also be played on a TV using a small device offered by the company that connects a television to a broadband Internet connection.

The idea of playing video games via the Internet is nothing new, of course. Companies such as Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo offer online services that let players collaborate and compete over a broadband connection. But these games are still tied to their companies' respective game consoles. World of Warcraft, a popular, massively multiplayer online game, streams content to a player's computers via an Internet connection. But, as any player knows, one of the biggest problems with the game is that players must often wait for the on-screen visuals to catch up to their instructions.

The basic requirement for running OnLive, says Perlman, is a 1.5-megabit-per-second Internet connection. But to run the service on a high-definition screen, he says, the connection needs at least five megabits per second. OnLive has already partnered with major games companies including Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive Software, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and Epic Games. The company demonstrated 16 of its titles today at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, CA.

In order to use the service on a PC or a Mac, a person will need to download a one-megabyte program. To use OnLive with a digital television, a person will need the company's MicroConsole device. The company will offer its own gaming controllers, but standard controllers can be used as well.

By removing the need for expensive graphics cards for PCs and games consoles, OnLive "has the potential to dramatically open up gaming markets to people who wouldn't have participated otherwise due to the initial cost," says Dolbier. In addition, he says, OnLive could lower the cost of producing games. because it would only need to be made for one platform, rather than customized for Xbox, PlayStation3, and Nintendo. "It's an excellent idea to expand the markets," he says.

Who Will Shape the Future of our World ? Game Developers

With over 400 staff, Virtuos is one of the largest providers of outsourced production services to the games industry in China Since its creation in late 2004, Virtuos’ clients include leading developers as well as 14 of the top 20 games publishers worldwide.

The IGDA Education special interest group keynote this year was delivered by Jane McGonigal, director of game research and development at the Institute of the Future and notable ARG designer
Here, she asked the question: “Are you optimistic about the future?”
“I think game developers have some of the most reason to be optimistic out of anyone on the planet,” says McGonigal. She proses that about 1 in 2000 people have a chance of altering their own future.

The great work of game designers over the next decade, says McGonigal, will be to redefine life as we know it. Games, she says, have the power to change our actual world.

There are 5 key forces that drive us toward a game designer’s future, she says. These are:
– sustainable happiness
– persuasive technology
– the engagement economy
– programmable reality
– superstructing.

McGonigal says that to be happy, humans crave: Satisfying work to do, the experience of being good at something, time spent with people we like, and a chance to be a part of something bigger.

“These four things are what games do,” she says. “Positive psychology is coming to the conclusion that multiplayer games are the ultimate sustainer of happiness.”

Partly, I agree with her points.Cos obviously, people, to the exception of no one, will be involved in the game world in the future more or less.

Derek Campbell won World of Warcraft Miniatures Tournament

Battlezone Comics hosted a World of Warcraft Miniatures tournament called Spectral Safari. The first place prize was the coveted and highly prized, Spectral Tiger loot card, which gives one character a spectral tiger mount.

There were 32 contestants with a multi-layer elimination grid. The competition was fierce, especially because no one was able to bring in their tried and true teams from previous competitions. Each player received a single booster pack and had to make a team with two of the minis from that pack.

The competition started at 12:00 p.m. and lasted until around 7:00 p.m. that night. After many games, a winner was declared. Derek Campbell won the tournament of 32 contestants, with a record of seven wins and one loss. The miniatures he used were Thangal, a Tauren druid, and Ji’lan, a Troll rogue.

WoW Rated "Adults Only",Said German Social Affairs Minister

Mechtchild Ross-Luttman, the Minister for Social Affairs in Lower Saxony, is calling for tougher age restrictions on videogames in Germany, including a reclassification of the hit MMOG World of Warcraft to "Adults Only."

Ross-Luttmann wants the age restriction imposed not only on "killer games" like Counter-Strike and other FPSes but also on games with particularly "addictive" qualities, like World of Warcraft. A recent survey of 44,610 ninth grade students by the KFN, the criminal research institute of Lower Saxony, classified 14,000 of them as addicted to games and another 23,000 more in
Ross-Luttman said she would present her figures and proposals to other youth and social ministers at their next national meeting. "Parents must know what danger potential exists in their children's bedrooms," she said.

But even that irony-laden statement isn't enough for some, including Sven Petke, acting chairman of the Christian Democratic Union party in Brandenberg. He wants all violent games banned outright in Germany along with inappropriate internet content, for which he believes ISPs should be held responsible. "The time for excuses is over," he said. "We need web filtering by the ISPs to operate."

This latest uproar against videogames comes in response to the murders of 15 people in the German town of Winnenden by a 17-year-old teenager who played videogames including Counter-Strike and Far Cry 2. Excited media reports following the killing spree made a point of mentioning his gaming habits and while German authorities appeared eager to place the blame on violent games, there appears to be little concern over the fact that he was a troubled youth who was receiving counseling for depression and apparently had ready access to his father's collection of 15 firearms.

Gold selling should be licensed or not?

At least 30 percent of people who play MMOGs buy virtual goods and services, according to a World of Warcraft gold seller who believes that the practice should be licensed and supported by MMOG companies.

Extreme Gold Fan, an anonymous World of Warcraft gold seller and buyer who runs WoW Gold Facts, a site about "exposing the truth in the World of Warcraft Gold Industry," has told Eurogamer that he believes that the percentage of MMOG players who participate in real money transactions (RMT) for virtual currency and services is around 30 percent.

He argues that because the practice is so prevalent and, in his mind, beneficial, MMOG companies should stop trying to prevent it but incorporate it into their business by officially licensing and supporting real money transactions. "In my opinion, the industry would be better served if publishers would recognize that lots of gamers - I've heard it's 30 per cent of the player base - like the benefits of RMT, and work with credible companies and allow it to happen," he said.

Call him an idealist, but Extreme Gold Fan sees this all perfectly within the realm of possibility. "I don't see why this is not possible," he said. "They could make a condition of involvement in RMT that players give them a complete release of all forms of liability."

Well, 30 percent of all you WoW players, fess up! Have you bought gold or other virtual goods or services? I'll admit that I've done it, not in an MMOG but in Diablo II, where nowadays you never have to spend more than a couple bucks for some relatively topnotch gear.

Tips of making wow gold-without difficulties!

Do you wonder how some people can make more gold than you, no matter what? I got very annoyed at other players who can do this. It is not because they are just better at the game or have more skill than you. The only reason why they can make more is because they know a few simple little things that put them ahead of everyone else.
Everyone knows that they don't want to spend all day trying to farm wow gold. It becomes very boring after awhile of doing the same thing over and over. I was way to tired of taking 3 hours after school farming my same spot I always do just to buy one new piece of armor. So I found a way to become richer without being level 80.
Everyone believes that you need to farm all day to make world of warcraft gold. The pros all do a very little bit of farming, but they really start to get most of their money when they sell items. The location of where you sell your items from your farm run is where you make all the money. Buy cheap, then sell high is basically how you become super rich. Also knowing what to buy is very important, you can't buy just anything and expect to make money by trying to sell it. This is where the phrase, "having money makes you money", comes into play.
For most players, reaching level 80 is a very exciting time for them. They can do PvP and do more damage and so on. After awhile it becomes boring and you don't really know what else to do in the game. Everyone wants wow gold way before level 80. Because it takes a lot of money to get there and the more you have the faster you can get to your max level. Knowing this, people have set out to find easier ways to make money as lower levels.
But as a newbie to World of Warcraft, you have to buy some wow gold, so here I wanna suggest one online game store,http://www.wowgoldpower.comfor you where I used to get lots of cheapest and fastest wow gold. Maybe you can go there and have a try.

Nirvana: A killer Lego online game, World of Warcraft-style

Nirvana for the video game industry looks a lot like World of Warcraft, except without the arcane rules that mystify the average player.

A new online game based on the building bricks franchise that's scheduled for release in 2010, that vision is the driving force behind Lego Universe. Developed by a San Mateo company called Gazillion Entertainment, the game is designed so even your 5-year-old and his grandfather can play together. Gazillion, which has been operating in stealth since 2005, is also working on an online superhero game based on its license with Marvel Entertainment.

The goal is to make virtual world games that anyone can play. It's a financially hazardous terrain, previously explored by many companies before Gazillion, including NC Soft, whose Tabula Rasa game, designed by Ultima Online creator Richard Garriott, shut down March 1. These types of games are difficult and expensive to build. They're even more arduous to maintain once tens of thousands of players pile in, uncovering and exploiting every bug in the game.

Gazillion Entertainment Reaches MMO games

Eveloper Blizzard reshaped MMOs with World of Warcraft and no company has come close to pushing over the online champ. But that’s not going to stop Gazillion Entertainment from trying, which announced today that it has reached an agreement with Marvel Entertainment to license Marvel content in its upcoming MMO games.

The ten-year deal will allow Gazillion Entertainment, a startup with members from Apple, Pixar and Blizzard, to use Spiderman, Wolverine, Incredible Hulk and any of the other 5,000-plus characters in the Marvel universe.

“Marvel’s library features a large and world-renowned stable of characters, making it tailor made for massively multiplayer entertainment that will appeal to a wide audience eager for more opportunities to interact with these iconic character franchises,” said Simon Philips, President, Worldwide Consumer Products for Marvel Entertainment. “Gazillion’s excellence in casual and AAA MMOs makes this an ideal partnership to fully leverage this powerful entertainment arena, bringing fans an exciting, interactive experience with the Marvel brand.”

With former members from successful, high-end companies (including rival Blizzard) and a massive deal with a hugely popular entity, perhaps this is exactly what’s needed to knock World of Warcraft off its throne. Stay tuned for official game announcements as they come.

Entropia Universe player gets real-world banking license; what about World of Warcraft?

NEW YORK (AP) — With banks around the world foundering, the idea of moving your bank account to another planet might have some appeal.
Interstellar banking isn't here yet, but at least you can pretend. The publisher of the online science-fiction game "Entropia Universe," set on the planet Calypso, received a banking license from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority last week and plans to open a real bank within a year, albeit one without physical, walk-in branches.
Players of "Entropia" already exchange real money for a virtual currency that is used for their expenses on Calypso. And virtual money they make in the game, through hunting, mining, trading or other activities, can be cashed out into real money. The virtual currency, Project Entropia Dollars, has a fixed 10-to-1 exchange rate to the U.S. dollar.
By setting up a real-world bank, Sweden-based publisher MindArk PE AB gains the protection of the Swedish government's deposit insurance for these accounts, up to about $60,000 for each customer.
MindArk also plans to offer standard bank services like interest-bearing accounts, direct deposit of paychecks, bill payment and lending, said David Simmonds, the company's business development director.
"Entropia Universe" is unusual in allowing a free conversion between its virtual currency and real money. Most online games, like "World of Warcraft," prohibit the sale of virtual items and money for real cash.

Patent Troll Ready to Sue World of Warcraft, Second Life

Worlds.com CEO Thom Kidrin is getting ready to sue the pants off every MMOG in existence, including World of Warcraft and Second Life, for infringing on what he claims is his company's patented intellectual property: Scalable virtual worlds with thousands of users.

Worlds.com claims to hold a patent for the idea of virtual worlds that dates back to 1995 and that could quite literally apply to every 3-D online world currently in existence. In fact, Worlds.com has already taken one MMOG heavyweight to court: Korea-based NCsoft, the company behind games like Lineage and Guild Wars. And while legal expert Ben Buranske, contacted by Business Insider, says the wealth of "prior art" will make the case tough to prove, World.com's court of choice, the Eastern District of Texas, is notorious for handing
heavy damage awards to plaintiffs in cases like this. Nintendo was recently ordered to pay $21 million in damages after a jury in the district found the company had violated 12 patents relating to its controllers held by a small Texas company called Anascape.

Worlds.com apparently came into possession of the patents by way of Starbright World, a social network for serious ill children that's part of the Starlight Starbright Foundation.
The patents don't cover virtual worlds specifically but rather "an architecture for enabling thousands of simultaneous users in a 3D virtual space." Lawyers from the General Patent
Corporation reportedly encouraged Worlds.com management to "aggressively pursue" licensing arrangements with MMOG companies.

Kidrin says he doesn't want to put anyone out of business, he's simply after proper licensing fees for what he feels is rightfully his intellectual property. Given the amounts of money involved in the MMOG business, it's a safe bet he won't settle for token amounts.

Deaths of gamers leave their online lives in limbo

NEW YORK (AP) — When Jerald Spangenberg collapsed and died in the middle of a quest in an
online game, his daughter embarked on a quest of her own: to let her father's gaming friends
know that he hadn't just decided to desert them.

With online social networks becoming ever more important in our lives, they're also becoming
an important element in our deaths. Spangenberg, who died suddenly from an abdominal
aneurysm at 57, was unprepared, but others are leaving detailed instructions. There's even a
tiny industry that has sprung up to help people wrap up their online contacts after their
deaths.

David Eagleman, a neuroscientist at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, has had
plenty of time to think about the issue.

"I work in the world's largest medical center, and what you see here every day is people
showing up in ambulances who didn't expect that just five minutes earlier," he said. "If you
suddenly die or go into a coma, there can be a lot of things that are only in your head in
terms of where things are stored, where your passwords are."

He set up a site called Deathswitch, where people can set up e-mails that will be sent out
automatically if they don't check in at intervals they specify, like once a week. For $20
per year, members can create up to 30 e-mails with attachments like video files.

It's not really a profit-making venture, and Eagleman isn't sure about how many members it
has — "probably close to a thousand." Nor does he know what's in the e-mails that have been
created. Until they're sent out, they're encrypted so that only their creators can read
them.

If Deathswitch sounds morbid, there's an alternative site: Slightly Morbid. It also sends e
-mail when a member dies, but doesn't rely on them logging in periodically while they're
alive. Instead, members have to give trusted friends or family the information needed to log
in to the site and start the notification process if something should happen.

The site was created by Mike and Pamela Potter in Colorado Springs, Colo. They also run a
business that makes software for online games. Pamela said they realized the need for a
service like this when one of their online friends, who had volunteered a lot of time
helping their customers on a Web message board, suddenly disappeared.

He wasn't dead: Three months later, he came back from his summer vacation, which he'd spent
without Internet access. By then, the Potters had already had Slightlymorbid.com up and
running for two weeks.

Teh Gladiators

A WoW Comic called Teh Gladiators. 60-ish pages of laughing stuff, I thought it was really cool. And I figured I should share it with you.

World of Warcraft hits 11 million subscribers

It is has announced that there are now more than 11 million subscribers to World of Warcraft. (World of warcraft gold
This represents an increase of 100,000 users on the last recorded figure. While not as big an increase in subscribers as previously announced milestones, this comes in spite of the release of two MMOs billed as rivals, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
"It's been very rewarding to see gamers around the world continue to show such strong support for World of Warcraft," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.
"We remain fully committed to responding to that enthusiasm with a high-quality, constantly evolving game experience."
This news comes just weeks before the MMO's second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, sees its release on November 13.

The Dilemma Of Choosing Gear

Choosing gear used to be so simple. When you roll a new character, you start out with the crappiest of the crap. At first, it’s just a matter of picking whatever has the highest armor rating. Couldn’t be easier. Then you add in stats to consider. Would you rather have agility or intelligence? Is your character more suited to armor of the bear or of the tiger? Are you mainly PvE or PvP?
Then come item enhancements. Being a leatherworker, for me the choice was between using an armor kit or getting a guildmate to enchant my gear with increased stats. Again, I usually went for the agility whenever possible.
But then I hit the high-50s, and things got more complicated. Blue armor was no longer always better than green armor. The stat bonuses started getting better. Many items offer bonuses to more than just one or two stats. And now there are sockets to consider, along with bonuses for actually filling the sockets. Or, bonuses for having multiple items in a set. And in addition to just stat bonuses, there also are pluses to attack power, crit rating, resilience rating, dodge rating, resistances etc.
How does one cope, especially when making the shift to questing in Outland, then Northrend, where much, much better equipment is given as quest rewards? In the early 60s, I often found myself carrying around gear that, as it was, wasn’t quite as good as what I had equipped. But if I was able to get it enchanted, it would be a little bit better. Then I would find an even better item before I had the chance to enchant the second one.
So, I became more stingy with my gear. For BoP gear that’s a quest reward and already obsolete, I’ll just choose whichever item sells for the highest amount (yay, Auctioneer addon). For me, I can’t justify equipping BoE gear if I’m going to find something better in a half-level anyways. Instead, auction it! Or give it to a guildy to disenchant. Do those few extra tenths-of-a-chance to crit really make a difference when I can level quickly without it? Is it even worth keeping spare sets of gear for different uses when you’re leveling up so quickly that it becomes obsolete before you can use it? At least until I hit 80, my guess is no.

More classes launched in wow gold

Legit Gold Making Guide!Full update for Wrath OUT NOW!!!I hope everyone out there is enjoying raiding in Wrath and is not too bored of Naxxramas yet ;) As soon as Ulduar items are released expect to see them in the gear rankings. I know I for one can not wait to see the new raid dungeon!
Death Knights: - I released the two "main" Death Knight specs - Blood and Unholy - a few weeks ago, each spec based on a set rotation for maximum dps. Since this release, Blizzard has made some changes to Frost which makes it a viable spec now as well. Hopefully I can get this spec launched fairly soon as I know everyone is enjoying playing this new class.
Holy Priest: - Yet another healing class. The new holy priest rankings is based around the new 6 second Circle of Healing with the ability to rank the importance of filler healing spells as well as mana regeneration versus healing per second (HPS). Please check it out and let me know what you think.
Gold Guide Updated for Wrath - Side note here, but the gold guide I recommend has been fully updated to include Northrend and Wrath of the Lich King. While the sale of these guides does help a bit toward my hosting costs, I read them thoroughly and don't make these recommendations lightly! So, I highly recommend Warcraft Millionaire as it's definitely the best I've seen. So if you're planning on getting one and also want to help out maxdps, I recommend getting it now so you know how to get the most gold out of leveling in Wrath!

Wrath of the Lich King faces wrath of the Chinese government

With the World of Warcraft subscriber base climbing to an impressive 11.5 million just last December, it seems there's no stopping Wrath of the Lich King from conquering everything he sets his eyes on. That is, until the almighty warlord ran into a force much greater than him - the Chinese government. To this day, the extremely popular MMO has yet to receive a license from the Chinese government to operate in mainland China.
The Chinese government has already rejected two applications by the second expansion due to content that did not meet requirements, such as a city raid and skeleton characters. The submitted version also did not feature the popular Death Knight hero either. World of Warcraft is still undergoing changes to meet requirements until it's deemed acceptable by the Chinese government.
Blizzard is still trying to meet their standards, and at this point, there's no telling when the Lich King can successfully raid China.

FigurePrints taking World of Warcraft business to Europe

Brier Dudley offers a critical look at technology and business issues affecting the Northwest.
Maybe in addition to printing newspapers, media barons should try printing 3-D figurines of newsmakers.
Business is thriving for Redmond startup FigurePrints, a company that began producing hand-sized 3-D figures of World of Warcraft (World of warcraft gold)characters in 2007.
Founder Ed Fries, former head of Microsoft Game Studios, didn't share dollar volume but said FigurePrints exceeded last year's target of 10,000 figurines. The company is based in Redmond but manufacturing is done with advanced 3-D printers in Canada.
Today the company is announcing that it's expanding to Europe, beyond its original market of the U.S. and Canada. About a quarter of the 11 million Warcraft players are in North America; expanding to Europe adds another quarter or so, Fries said.
Asia's next for the company, which would then be able to reach most players.
FigurePrints is also looking to extend its product line with higher- and lower-end products.
In Europe, it is selling the figurines for 129.95 Euros, plus shipping and duties.
Fries is hoping that Warcraft players will keep buying the figures, despite the economic situation.
"I think that when times are tough people tend to stay close to the home and so that's generally good for video games,'' he said. Local news on WoW lingo

This is pretty silly, but we do have to give them credit: Bay Area NBC may have done a report on how incomprehensible our game's jargon is, but at least it's not a report about how WoW breaks up marriages or ruins the lives of children. But yeah, portraying WoW players as aliens with a foreign language all their own is a little far out -- the game's got jargon just like everything else, and what they don't do in this report, unfortunately, is show the etymology of all of these words ("QQ" means to cry because it looks like eyes crying, and "kek," as you know if you've ever been Alliance facing the Horde, is what "lol" translates into from Orcish). Not to mention that it's too bad she comes so close to the "I'm a girl, I don't get videogames" stereotype -- maybe if she sat down in the starting area for 20 minutes she'd know a little bit more about how it all works.
But maybe we're asking too much. Let's not forget that this is the media showing World of Warcraft played by a normal dude with a reporter girlfriend and a nice apartment. Sure, they're didn't spell "pwnz0r" quite right, and the guy isn't exactly "top 10 out of 12 million" -- he does have Ashes of Al'ar, but his guild is actually number 11 on the Greymane server -- but at least they're telling the story instead of trying to write it for us.

A New Person's Guide To RP/RP-PVP Realms

You dread it. You try not to see it. But they're always there. Threads beseeching information as to which RP/RP-PVP Realm has the most/best/friendliest/waffliest RP environment. We RPers are an organized bunch, so let us stop with the redundancy and pool our opinions together so as to inform the hungry, stray forum lurkers who have only just yet begun to feel the RP fuzzies and are thinking of creating a RP toon. So essentially,
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ROLLING ON A RP/RP-PVP SERVER AND ARE SEARCHING FOR THE BEST REALM THAT FITS YOUR PERSONAL INTERESTS, THIS IS THE PLACE TO RECIEVE SUCH INFORMATION, HURRAY!

Now, I need the help of my fellow RPers for the next part. Don't moan and groan, you'll be thanking yourselves in the long run, trust me. I know if I have to see one more Good RP Servers? thread, I will have to stab my eye out with a spoon. Yes, it is possible to do that. That is why I'm wearing the eye patch, if you've noticed. Anywhozit, here's what I need:
EXAMPLE:
Realm Name: Twisting Nether
Realm Type: RP-PVP
RP Status On Realm: Lots. I mean, a bunch. I've had many IC conversations from people I don't know and just run into on the streets. Stormwind is a popular place for RPers and you'll surely find RP there. Just the sheer amount of people walking around with MyRolePlay or FlagRSP is heartening. There's RP in Inn's, in the street, in the Auction House... If you want RP on Twising Nether, go to Stormwind. All it takes, really, is to walk up to someone and introduce yourself. Instant RP. Even in groups, it's pretty common to get an RPer or two in your party. I've met some wonderful RPers while grouping, and even RP'ed in some instances. The non-RPers were respectful and let us do our RP thing without hostility or aggravation. I can't say enough about how much I enjoy RPing on this server!
Would You Recommend This Realm And, If So, Which Faction?: If you are looking for nice, friendly people and with a good RP atmosphere, then I would recommend the RP alliance side. The Trade and General and other channels are not very good venues for RP, however, there is little RP hate or "griefers" on this server. I have yet to be ridiculed or mocked for RPing, even in the middle of Stormwind. I've heard that RP hordeside is poor, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Any RP Guilds Recruiting And What Type?: There are always guilds spamming recruitment spiels on the LFG channel and sometimes, even the Guild Recruitment channel (gasp!). There are many a guild on Twisting Nether. Perhaps if you pst me in game, I can try and point you in the right direction, based on your preferences. ^_^
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
And that's all you have to do, folks. Just copy my example and paste your own responses in the appropriate places. Simple enough, huh? And when enough people post and the thread starts winding down, I'll edit this post and tally up the votes for the most popular realms so they are easily accessible. As my experience in RP realms is laughable, I'm counting on you, RPers, to help out our confused and thread-creating happy brethren! Let peace and tranquility settle upon our blessed forums as the last of the Which RP Realm Is The Best threads die and slowly fade into an evanescent nether. If any of you have anything to add to make this thread more awesome than it already is, feel free to post your ideas! The ultimate goal is for this thread to become a sticky, so, if you feel inclined to do so, press the hazard sign/ report button and request a sticky from the sticky gods themselves! Now that all the formalities are out of the way, get your opiniony opinions ready...and YOU'RE OFF!

When you are on the Ratchet boat, heading from ratchet to BB, right before it goes into the loading screen at the end of the echo isles there is a delay. If you jump at the right time, it takes a few tries, you will fall and fall and fall(be sure to bring a slow fall potion or 2) onto a white mountian marked as WPL, you have to bring 2 accounts to do this as it is a trade bug. How to play WoW for free month to month

Most of you already know there is an initial fee that everyone has to pay Blizzard in order to activate a new account so that you can create characters on servers and start playing the game. I forget if the activation fee was $15 or $20, but the point is, there is no way around it and you have to pay $15 a month once you have activated your account. I payed the initial fee to activate my account with my credit card of course, and for a few months after, I payed the monthly $15 with my credit card too, that is of course until my credit card expired. Now I didn't plan on playing WoW for more than a few months, but I also didn't realize that my credit card was going to expire this soon.
So I had played WoW for a few months at my own pace, questing and leveling, twinking a few alts while leveling my main (Ret Pally =P), enjoying the game, spending more and more time playing online, completely oblivious to the fact my credit card was going to expire, and when it did, I would no longer be able to pay for it (because I didn't have any cash on me, it's either all in my bank or gone because of payments to my credit/debit cards/bills). So a I was basically playing the game with no intention of stopping. And all of my decisions in game where made according to my "in the long run" train of thought. I figured it would be a good idea to just twink at 49 on my ret pally and just grind AB and WG marks (since they're easier to get at lower levels) for a week or more, after that I could just level up and turn them in (along with all the other marks) for honor or gear once I hit 80. But unfortunately my credit card expired 5 days after I started grinding marks and I couldn't help but feel that it had expired at the worst possible time.
So my credit card had expired (the one with the lowest interest rate, the one I was using for WoW) and even if I renewed it (or applied for a different one with a reasonable interest rate) it was going to be a while until I could play WoW again. Using any of my other cards was out of the question (interest rates through the freaking roof don't know why I ever got them) and like I said before, I don't carry around too much cash. Out of fear that I may not have enough money to pay for everything at the end of the month, I decided against going over to Wal-Mart and buying a 60 prepaid card ($30 for 60days = $15 a month). So in my free time I began looking around the internet searching for a way to play WoW for free, at least until I got my credit card renewed. I typed crap into search engines and got crap on the search results pages as well. A lot of the search results were private servers, fail youtube vids, or really suspicious websites, none of which I bothered trying out, but I looked at them and could tell they weren't legit. Didn't try the private servers because I was gonna continue playing all of my toons but I just didn't have cash at the moment. What I was looking for was a way to pay for WoW, but the internet had everything except for what I wanted.
Eventually I stumbled upon a FEW (2 or 3 out of like 1,000) websites that didn't look too suspicious because they didn't ask for personal information, didn't require any payment, and didn't even require real info. I figured the worst thing that could happen was get some form of spyware or virus, but it's nothing I would have to worry about with a firewall and an antivirus/antispyware program that I update every time I feel like scanning. 1 of the websites I found didn't look the least bit malicious and because it didn't even require real info or any sort of payment, I decided I would give it a try. Sure enough I have to make some sort of login or username to use the website so I go ahead and get that done, then I go and check out the website's forums (it has forums O.o) and it's not completely barren like I imagined it would be. Forums had a bunch of threads there for noobs, tips and tricks topics, stickies, Q&A posts and whatnot. After figuring out what this website is about and how it works, I go ahead and try to get my "Free WoW".
And so, after like a week of trying (give or take a few days), I had finally "earned" my free WoW. I requested my free WoW knowing that it would probably not come, but it didn't really matter to me because it was only a waste of time, it wasn't like I was being scammed or keylogged. 1 week and a few days after I had requested it, my "Free WoW " came. And so then I type in the code on the official WoW website (knowing very well that it wouldn't work) and to my surprise, the code was legit! I logged into my account that very instant, and I still couldn't believe that it had worked. I had, somehow, stumbled upon something on the internet that was actually FREE. The next month though, my renewed credit card came in, and so I decided I would try to get Free WoW again for this month too (maybe I just got lucky?). Even though it took a little bit longer this time (using the same website), I got my free WoW again, typed the code into the WoW website again, and it worked! AGAIN!
Even though I couldn't find a way to get the expansions for free (BC, WotLK) I still managed to get Free WoW (month to month) up until this day...

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What is the Armory?
The Armory is a vast searchable database of information for World of warcraft - taken straight from the real servers and presented in a user-friendly interface. Since the Armory pulls its data from the actual game servers, it is the most comprehensive and up-to-date database on the characters, arena teams, guilds, and items of World of Warcraft in existence.
2.What can I search for in the Armory?
You can search for characters, items, guilds, arena teams, and faction rewards. You can select one of these master search filters from the top drop-down menu before entering a search term.
3.Why does the Armory look different?
In the spirit of Wrath of the Lich King, the Armory has received several design changes including a sleek new look, logins that persist for two weeks, a news feed on the main page, and more. Read more about these design changes on the Updates page.
4.What happened to the "Pin a Profile" feature?
At the top right hand corner of the Armory there is a tab labeled "Log In". Clicking this tab allows you to log in to the Armory using your World of warcraft account information without leaving the current page, and displays a link to the character on the account with the highest relevance as determined by the Armory. You can use the "My Characters" option below this profile link to access the profiles of the other characters on this account. Read more about this character selection interface at our Armory Login FAQ.
5.What is the "Find an Upgrade" option for items in a character profile?
Mousing over any item in a character profile will display a small arrow that turns into a button. Clicking this "Find an Upgrade" button will take you to an item search results page. On this page will be a list of items that may be considered upgrades for that item and for that particular character. These recommended upgrades take into account the character’s class, statistics, and overall gear quality. In this manner, you can look for upgrades for your character’s items as well as for any other character in World of Warcraft. This feature is also intended to be helpful for characters with multiple gear sets, as they can find upgrades for all their sets. The recommended upgrades feature will produce the most accurate results when used on characters that have no buffs affecting their statistics. Read more at our Find an Upgrade FAQ.
6.What does the term "relevance" mean on the search results pages?
Similar to a search engine relevance rating, the relevance category attempts to sort the matches to a search with the goal that the most appropriate matches appear near the top of the search results. Relevance is determined by running a combination of factors through an algorithm. These factors are different depending on what category is being searched for. For example, relevancy for a particular character name search may be affected by the level of the character, the last login time of the character, and other factors.
7.Will I be able to control what types of information are displayed on the Armory?
In the future, more types of information will be added to the Armory. Some of this new information may have a default state of being "private" in that it cannot be viewed by others. However, you will have the option to toggle some or all of this new information as "public" at your discretion.
8.What are the recommended and supported browsers for the Armory?
The Armory supports Internet Explorer (version 6.0 and up), Opera 9, and Safari. However, the Armory is best experienced with Firefox. In addition, certain features require Flash Player to function.

Helpful Hints for Newbies

Well first off let me say welcome to World of warcraft! Your about to begin a long journey through a very complex game.
There are several main aspects of World of warcraft that I'll break down for you.

Ultimately, the greatest aspect of this game is gaining levels and experience through killing monsters and completing quests. Where you quest can make all the difference between a good time and a bad time.

The second biggest aspect of World of warcraft is the massive community within the game. There are over 8.5 MILLION players to this game now, and at any given time there will be several hundred people online in one world at any given time. Much like any real life community, there is an ettiquite to World of warcraft and engaging with other players in the world.

Now, I know lots of you are thinking ok, but what about KILLING other people, which is where the PvP system comes in. Now i wouldn't recommend PvP for newbies untill you've got most minor aspects of the game figured out. (note that a newb is someone who is new to a game and wants to learn. A NOOB, is someone who refuses to be corrected when they do something wrong, even when others who are much more experienced are trying to kindly point out that there is a better way to do something.)
But the PvP system is designed to award points for every player you kill that are close to your level, you can spend these points as well as tokens you earn from completing a battleground (a encolsed area where a team of alliance and horde enter for match of capture the flag or king of the kill or "beat the enemy's leader" match.)

Another big aspect of the game is proffesions. You can train two main proffesions, and any amount of secondary proffesions. Basically a proffesion is something like leatherworking, blacksmithing, mining, skinning, alchemy etc that allows you to create and find items you can use or sell from things found within the world.

Do you want to be a Hunter?

As time went by,those fighters who took up the path of the druid would learn to become nature itself;shamans would learn to call upon it;warriors and rogues would make battle their art, each in their own way.But hunters remained at that pivotal point between sentient races and the natural world -- they are connected to nature, but not manifestations of it; they work together with nature, but they do not worship it or call upon its spirits; they fight their enemies with the utmost passion, but they do cheap wow gold it with the tools that hearken back to the dawn of civilization. This installment of All the World's a Stage is the twenty-fifth in a series of roleplaying guides in which we find out all the background information you need to roleplay a particular race or class well, without embarrassing yourself. The Hunter is probably the oldest class in World of Warcraft. Before anyone in Azeroth took up an axe or sword, or learned anything of how to cast spells -- even before they learned to write -- they had to hunt for food. If they were like early Earth societies, the people of many nomadic groups would have relied on their hunters to bring in the meat they needed, as well as to protect the community from enemies. Back then, there would have been no such thing as fancy armor or complicated magical weapons. The relationship of a fighter to nature was just as important as the weapons he carried, if not more so.Modern hunters in World of Warcraft come from the ancient tradition of those who cheap wow gold learned to keep themselves and their families alive by living in harmony with nature. They learned the essential mysteries of survival in the wilderness, killing animals with stealth and primitive weapons, trapping them, and eventually turning predators and prey alike into friends and servants.

Simple Gold Making Tips In World of Warcraft

Transmutation
For alchemists, the best way to make gold is to transmute the items you already have and make more gold off of them. For example, if you are going to sell Arcane Crystals, a quick transmutation into Arcanite Bars yields an extra 6 gold per sale. This is a great way to make a little extra money with no extra effort. Additionally, if you notice items for sale in the Auction House that can be transmuted, by them and transmute them to resell. If you are savvy and have the necessary skill, you can make dozens of gold each day just transmuting items and reselling them.
Partying in an Instance wow gold
More of something to look for than an actual tip, you should ensure that when you join an instance, you are the only character of a single class in your five man party. This ensures that every item retrieved that is class specific will be given to you. If there are two mages in one group who both want the Epic cloth item that was just dropped, you only have a 50% chance of winning it on a roll and less if you already picked up a lesser item before hand. It’s best to keep things from being argumentative this way too.
Selling Your Class Services
As a healer, tank or high level character, you can hire out your services to other players in almost any location in thewow gold. There are hundreds of low to mid-level characters that want to accomplish a given quest or instance and need a high level character to assist and willingly pay you to do so. If they are poor, simply take the item drops along the way. It is a great way to help out your fellow players and make friends as well as hire out your services for a decent amount of gold. The best part is that these situations often result in a low level instance that you can quickly defeat and take the items from.
Seasonal Items
There are certain items that Blizzard inserts into the game at certain times of year that become extremely popular for some reason or another. These seasonal items, usually released for major holidays are worth even more in the off season and can make you a decent profit if you know how to work the market. First off, when a new item is available, buy as many as the game will allow you to buy. Store all of the extras in your bank or on an alternate character and wait out the season. This is a small investment really. When a month or two has passed, thosewow gold will become rare and people will pay decent gold for them. Visit the Auction House and check the going rate. When you are happy enough with the increase, simply sell your backstock and make some extra gold.
